You’re probably here because you’re interested in chess and live in or near Stowmarket, Suffolk. If so, you’re in good company. Our club welcomes newcomers. Whether you’re fairly new to chess or a seasoned expert, it would be great if you could join us.

Our Club meets regularly

If you have not been along to our club yet, a warm welcome awaits you. Our teams are looking forward to next season’s matches with other clubs for the 2025/26 season.and we have lots of players enjoying social chess every Tuesday.

We meet during the chess season, from September on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm at the Rookery Bowls Club in Stowmarket. You can find a map here. .

The club competes in the leagues and cup competitions of the Suffolk County Chess Association, the Bury Area Chess League and occasionally in other events.

During the Summer months we just meet for Social Chess so far this summer there have been enough players to make an evening of social chess.
